Visiting/Observing

Because the Waldorf curriculum is different from some traditional offerings, we strongly recommend that parents attend an Information Evening as part of the application process. Classroom observations are possible by appointment, but are limited to adults only.

The Application Process

Our application process generally begins by attending an Information Evening. These information evenings provide a description of the distinctive aspects of Waldorf education and an understanding of our particular school and program. Next, interested parents fill out and submit a brief application form that gives the faculty some basic information about the child and his/her family. There is a one time, non-refundable $75 application fee for new applications.
A PDF version of our parent-child and kindergarten application may be downloaded here. A PDF version of the grades application may be downloaded here. They also may be requested by telephone 703.624.1309, or by email at Information@PotomacCrescentSchool.org. You will need Adobe Reader to view and print the application, which can be found here.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available in limited amounts from the school budget and through the generosity of donors. Applications for financial aid for the up-coming school term should be made by February 1, 2008, by filing the Parents' Financial Statement form (available in the office) with The School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Princeton, NJ. An objective and confidential assessment of family need is then returned to the school aid committee. This process takes about 3 weeks from the time School and Student Service receives the application. The financial aid committee meets in early April; applicants filing after that date may find that all available funds have been awarded. It is our hope that anyone desiring Waldorf education will not allow financial constraints to prevent application to the school.

Requests should be made with the knowledge that our aid funds are limited. The Board of Directors has determined that half tuition is the maximum financial aid grant.
